This week: it's the first in a series of new-and-improved, extended episodes! We delve into the world of improvisation, and in particular, the often hidden world classical improvisation, and hear the stories and the science behind it. And of course, the music.

The episode features two phenomenal musicians who just haven't gotten their due in terms of recognition. Do them—but mostly yourself—a favor, and find them, listen to them, and be inspired by them! (Sharing / subscribing to this podcast won't hurt either....just sayin')

Paul Bratcher
Carlos Rodriguez

It also features a conversation with Charles Limb, an ear surgeon / musician / neuroscience researcher at Johns Hopkins who's devoted much of his professional work to music cognition. You can read more about him and see his TED talk on improvisation here.
